This isn’t a rink.
It’s a rallying point.

Midcoast Arena is more than concrete and ice. It’s a promise to our youth, a boost to our economy, and a statement that this community can come together to get big things done. We’re not starting from scratch. We’re building on the undeniable rise in participation, demand, and energy we’ve seen across the region.

The Arena will change lives–and the landscape

We don’t need to guess at the impact. We’ve seen it firsthand; on the faces of the kids who love the game and in the data showing what a facility like this will bring to a region.

A long-term boost for the Midcoast Economy

From youth tournaments to adult leagues and public events, Midcoast Arena will drive year-round traffic to local businesses, generate jobs, and increase regional visibility. Similar arena across the country and region have injected millions into their local economics–and we’re ready to do the same.

space for every skater, not just the elite.

This isn’t just for hockey. It’s for kids learning to skate, seniors staying active, figure skaters, and everyone in between. The Midcoast deserves a place where everyone from first-timers to lifelong players can find join on the ice.

We’re at capacity–risking turning families away

Sidney J. Watson Arena on the campus of Bowdoin College has served us well, but it’s no longer enough. As the largest youth-serving athletics program in the area, we’ve hit a ceiling and relying on a network of rinks from Lewiston to Falmouth to meet demand. Without a dedicated facility, families face long drives, waitlists, or worse–missing out entirely. Midcoast Arena removes those barriers and opens doors for even more kids to learn, play and grow.

the fastest-growing youth sport program in the region

Midcoast Youth Hockey has more than doubled in size across key age groups–and tripled in entry-level (Learn to Play) participation over the last two years. With 66% growth this season alone (and over 300% since 2023!), the program has outgrown available ice.

The numbers don’t lie: the demand is here, and it’s accelerating.

This is what demand looks like.

Growth, not Hype.

300%+

Youth Program

Midcoast Youth Hockey is now the largest youth-serving athletics organization in the Brunswick/Topsham area and poised to be among the largest youth hockey program in the state of Maine; but future growth will be stalled without more ice time.
